Role Overview

We're looking for a Data Engineer to build and maintain robust, scalable data pipelines that transform raw partner data into structured, reliable datasets ready for AI and recommendation systems. You'll work across data ingestion, transformation, validation, and enrichment — ensuring data quality, consistency, and performance across our Google Cloud ecosystem.

Must Have

Core Languages & Frameworks

  • Python – advanced data processing, cleaning, and automation skills
  • SQL – efficient query design and dataset optimization
  • PySpark or Dask – scalable distributed data processing

Cloud & Data Infrastructure

  • Google Cloud Platform (GCP): BigQuery, Cloud Storage (GCS), Cloud Run / Cloud Functions, Vertex AI
  • Pub/Sub or Kafka – event-driven pipelines and feed orchestration
  • Airflow / Cloud Composer – workflow automation

ETL & Data Engineering

  • End-to-end pipeline design: ingestion transformation enrichment storage
  • Parsing and normalizing large, multi-source product datasets (APIs, feeds, XML/JSON)
  • Schema inference, validation (Pandera or similar), and logging
  • Experience managing data lineage and reproducibility

Data Quality & Security

  • High attention to data consistency and error handling
  • Understanding of data privacy and GDPR compliance

Good to Have

AI / ML Integration

  • Integrating LLMs or embeddings into data pipelines (Gemini, OpenAI)
  • Familiarity with vector databases (Weaviate, Pinecone, FAISS)

DevOps & Deployment

  • Docker, CI/CD, and cost optimization on GCP

Programming / Tooling

  • FastAPI or Flask for microservices
  • Pandas, Redis for fast in-memory data operations

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in data engineering or ML data prep
  • Proven GCP experience with production data pipelines
  • Strong debugging, automation, and ownership mindset
  • Fluent English (C1+)
  • Immediate or short notice availability
