Job Title: Librarian

Reports to: Head of School / Department Head

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic, organized, and enthusiastic Librarian to manage and promote the school library as a vibrant hub for learning and reading. The successful candidate will support students and staff in accessing a wide range of learning resources and contribute to the overall academic development of the school.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the school library, ensuring it is well-organized, welcoming, and conducive to reading and research.
• Support students in locating and selecting appropriate reading materials; encourage a love of reading.
• Teach students about the organization of the library, including the Dewey Decimal System.
• Maintain accurate borrowing records; follow up on overdue or lost books.
• Curate age-appropriate reading lists and resources for various academic needs.
• Liaise with academic staff for annual library orders and periodical subscriptions.
• Catalog and classify library materials; repair and withdraw outdated or damaged books.
• Maintain and manage audio-visual resources and examination materials.
• Engage with public libraries and seek opportunities to enhance library services.
• Supervise and train library assistants and volunteers.
• Ensure the library is in compliance with institute Education standards and values.
• Attend staff meetings and contribute to school events and committees.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Library Science.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills in English (mandatory).
• Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and staff.
• Proactive, flexible, and adaptable with a positive attitude.
• Strong IT skills and familiarity with school library systems.
• Patience, empathy, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to manage behavior and resolve conflicts constructively.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20, ₹30,000.00 per month
