Job description

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the maintenance, performance, and security of SQL databases.
  • Conduct regular database optimization, tuning, and indexing.
  • Implement and enforce database security measures.
  • Manage database access, roles, and permissions.
  • Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database issues.
  • Apply database updates, patches, and upgrades.
  • Assist in data modeling and database design.
  • Database integration from external systems.
  • Monitor database capacity and plan for future needs.
  • Document database configurations and procedures.
  • Collaborate with IT staff and provide training to users.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a SQL Database Administrator.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server, (Oracle, MySQL, or other relational databases is a plus).
  • Knowledge of Azure IaaS & PaaS.
  • Knowledge of Data Factory.
  • Experience in data integrations or transformative data architecture to modern, or cutting-edge solutions that leverage AI.
  • IT Background and ITSM Tools: Experience with tools like ServiceNow, Salesforce, Jira, and familiarity with IT metrics.
  • Experience in performance tuning and query optimization.
  • Familiarity with database security practices.
  • Proficiency in backup and recovery methods.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex database issues.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Certifications in relevant database technologies.
  • Experience with Azure cloud-based database services.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, etc).
  • Familiarity with data warehousing and BI tools.
