Job Description you willplay a crucial role in designing and developing furniture pieces that incorporate sheet metal components. Leveraging your proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks, you will create detailed drawings and 3D models that integrate sheet metal elements seamlessly into the overall design. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the structural integrity, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of our sheet metal furniture offerings. Experience required – 2 to 6 years (In furniture designing) Role & responsibilities
  • Sheet Metal Furniture Design: Conceptualize, design, and develop furniture pieces that prominently
  • feature sheet metal components.
  • Collaborate with the design team to generate innovative concepts
  • that blend sheet metal with other materials such as wood, glass, or upholstery.
  • Technical Drawings and 3D Modeling: Utilize AutoCAD and SolidWorks to produce accurate
  • technical drawings, 3D models, and renderings of furniture designs incorporating sheet metal. Ensure
  • designs adhere to manufacturing requirements, industry standards, and ergonomic principles. 
  • Material Selection and Specification: Research, evaluate, and select appropriate sheet metal
  • materials based on factors such as strength, durability, and aesthetic appeal. Specify material
  • thickness, finishes, and joining methods to achieve desired design outcomes.
  • Prototype Development and Testing: Collaborate with the prototyping team to fabricate
  • prototypes of sheet metal furniture designs. Conduct thorough testing and evaluation to assess
  • structural integrity, stability, and user comfort. Iterate on designs based on feedback to optimize
  • performance and aesthetics.
  • Manufacturing Liaison: Work closely with the manufacturing team to ensure seamless translation of
  • design concepts into production-ready furniture pieces. Provide detailed documentation, including
  • fabrication drawings and assembly instructions, to facilitate efficient manufacturing processes.
  • Cost Optimization: Identify opportunities to optimize material usage, fabrication techniques, and
  • assembly methods to reduce manufacturing costs without compromising quality or design integrity. Collaborate with the procurement team to source sheet metal materials at competitive prices. 
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance: Conduct rigorous quality checks throughout the design and
  • manufacturing process to ensure compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and customer
  • expectations. Address any issues or discrepancies promptly to maintain product quality and
  • consistency.
Preferred candidate profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Furniture Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. 
  • Proven experience in furniture design with a focus on sheet metal components.  Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and other CAD software.
  • Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication techniques, including bending, welding, and finishing
  • processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with
  • design, engineering, and manufacturing teams.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to sheet metal furniture design
