Firmware Developer - Storage Domain The Firmware Developer in the Storage Domain plays a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining firmware for various storage devices, such as SSDs and hard drives. This position involves collaborating with hardware engineers and software developers to create efficient firmware solutions that ensure reliable operation and high performance. The developer's expertise influences how efficiently data is managed, safety protocols are followed, and overall product quality is upheld. As the storage industry evolves, the Firmware Developer must adapt to new technologies, ensuring compatibility with emerging standards. This role requires a blend of technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and an understanding of storage protocols, making it key to the organization's success in delivering cutting-edge storage solutions.Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and test firmware for storage devices like SSDs and HDDs.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate firmware with hardware components.
- Implement industry-standard storage protocols such as SATA, NVMe, and SCSI.
- Debug and optimize firmware applications to enhance performance and reliability.
- Conduct performance benchmarking and validation of firmware features.
- Ensure adherence to safety and compliance protocols in firmware design.
- Document firmware specifications, designs, and validation processes.
- Participate in code reviews and adhere to coding standards.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues in field firmware performance.
- Work with cross-functional teams to resolve firmware-related problems.
- Enhance and refine existing firmware architectures for better performance.
- Contribute to the creation of development tools and testing infrastructure.
- Keep updated with the latest developments in storage technology and firmware best practices.
- Provide technical support during the firmware release process.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the team's knowledge base.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 4 years to 6 Years of experience in firmware development, preferably in the storage domain.
- Strong proficiency in C programming language.
- Experience with embedded systems development.
- Familiarity with debugging tools and techniques.
- Knowledge of storage protocols (SATA, NVMe, SCSI).
- Experience with version control systems (Git, SVN).
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong documentation and technical writing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
- Understanding of hardware-software integration challenges.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodology is a plus.
- Desire to learn new technologies and continuously improve skills.
- Experience in performance optimization techniques.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
