Design-for-manufacturing advisory
Supplier discovery and qualification

We operate as both a design & procurement partner for buyers and a growth channel for manufacturers, requiring deep clarity of value on both sides of the marketplace.
Role OverviewWe are seeking a Business Development Intern / Associate to act as the commercial counterpart to our Manufacturing SME intern. This role will run point on external engagement, owning early-stage conversations with both prospective suppliers (manufacturers) and prospective clients (product developers, engineers, sourcing teams).
This is not a generic sales role. You will be responsible for articulating Trustbridge's value proposition with precision, adapting it intelligently depending on whether you are speaking to a CNC shop owner, a contract manufacturer, or a venture-backed product team.
You will work closely with:
Our Manufacturing SME intern (technical depth)
Founders and senior leadership (strategy, positioning)
Our internal CRM and matching-engine workflows
The role is ideal for someone who wants exposure to marketplace economics, industrial systems, and early-stage company building, and who is comfortable engaging sophisticated stakeholders on both sides of a transaction.
Key ResponsibilitiesMarketplace Engagement
Lead outbound and inbound conversations with:
Manufacturing suppliers (CNC, injection molding, additive, sheet metal, etc.)
Product developers, engineers, and sourcing professionals
Clearly communicate Trustbridge's role as a design partner + manufacturer matchmaker, not a commodity marketplace
Qualify suppliers and clients based on capability, fit, and long-term potential
Tailor messaging by audience:
Manufacturers: pipeline quality, long-term revenue, reduced sales friction
Clients: speed, quality, design intelligence, supplier fit
Translate complex offerings (design services, supplier matching, referral economics) into clear, compelling language
Serve as a real-time feedback loop on how the market responds to our positioning
Support CRM hygiene, notes, and tagging to improve future matching accuracy
Identify patterns in objections, confusion, or enthusiasm across conversations
Collaborate with leadership on refining outreach scripts, positioning, and go-to-market strategy
Over time, help shape playbooks for supplier onboarding and client intake
