Role & responsibilities

Job purpose

An application support engineer is responsible for providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance to users of a specific software application. They work closely with the development team and other stakeholders to ensure that the application functions effectively and meets the needs of the users.

Desired experience

Around 2 to 3 years.

Duties and responsibilities

  1. Responding to user inquiries and issues in a timely and professional manner

All the user inquiries and issues shall be addressed and responded to in timely and professional manner. Response and resolution time shall be maintained.

  1. Generate server assessment repots based on client requirement:

Primary job responsibility of support engineer is to generate server assessment reports of the specified servers using the provided tool. Engineer will generate report for individual server or will schedule and monitor server assessments using the provided tool.

  1. Log calls for port opening with relevant team.

Engineer will be responsible to log calls for port opening and pre-requisite deployment with relevant teams of client using the authorization provided by client.

  1. Co-ordinate with respective teams for various SCM server management activities

Engineer is responsible to follow-up with various IT teams to complete the tool related activities within stipulated timeframe. Engineer will also be responsible to escalate matter, if required, to relevant authorities.

  1. Perform first level of troubleshooting of SCM.

Engineer will perform first level trouble shooting to ensure un-interrupted services of the provided tool.

  1. Escalate / Elevate issues observed in SCM.

Engineer will be responsible to elevate the observed issues to relevant team within client and vendor.

Engineer will be responsible to escalate issues to onsite project manager as and when required.

  1. Co-ordinate with vendor team for issue resolution

Engineer will be responsible to co-ordinate with relevant vendor team for faster resolution of issues for better uptime of the provided tool.

  1. Impart training to users.

Engineer will be responsible to impart training to required audiences.

Expected Skills & Experience

  • Basic understanding of information security,
  • Hands on experience in Infrastructure technology including networking and security devices like firewall, etc.,
  • Technical documentation skills,
  • Hands on deployment experience of software,
  • Good communication skill,
  • Good grasping skill to understand clients requirement and respond accordingly,
  • Basic understanding of PowerShell and BASH scripting,
  • Basic understanding of Database management and queries.
