Radiographers are healthcare professionals who perform diagnostic imaging procedures to help diagnose and treat medical conditions, utilizing various imaging technologies such as Mammography X-rays.Key Responsibilities

• Perform Diagnostic Imaging: Radiographers operate imaging equipment to capture high-quality images of patients' internal structures. This includes using X-rays, Mammography and ultrasounds to assist in diagnosing illnesses and injuries. 2
• Patient Interaction: They prepare and position patients for imaging procedures, explaining the process to ensure comfort and safety. Radiographers also provide psychological support and reassurance to patients during procedures. 2
• Quality Control: Radiographers are responsible for ensuring the quality of the images produced. They review captured images for clarity and diagnostic value, retaking images if necessary. 1
• Collaboration with Healthcare Professionals: They work closely with radiologists and other healthcare providers to interpret imaging results and develop treatment plans. This collaboration is essential for effective patient care. 2
• Safety Compliance: Radiographers must adhere to safety regulations and protocols to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff. They ensure compliance with established safety standards when operating imaging equipment. 2
• Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation is crucial. Radiographers enter relevant information into electronic medical records (EMRs) and ensure compliance with data protection regulations. 2
• Equipment Maintenance: They inspect and maintain diagnostic equipment to ensure it is functioning correctly and report any faults for repair. 1
