Veterinary Assistant

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and minor procedures.
  • Handle pets safely and gently, ensuring minimal stress for the animals.
  • Prepare examination and treatment areas with necessary instruments and supplies.
  • Support in administering medications, vaccines, and basic first aid as instructed by the vet.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the clinic, including consultation rooms, kennels, and grooming areas.
  • Collect and label samples (blood, urine, feces) as directed.
  • Monitor and comfort hospitalized pets, ensuring food, water, and bedding are provided.
  • Communicate with pet parents regarding basic care, procedures, and follow-up instructions.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and assist with appointment scheduling.
  • Stock management – monitor and replenish medical supplies.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; certification in animal care/veterinary assistance is a plus.
  • Prior experience in a veterinary clinic, animal shelter, or pet care setting preferred.
  • Strong love for animals and ability to handle them with care.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic knowledge of animal behavior, nutrition, and first aid is desirable.
  • Physically fit to lift and handle pets of various sizes.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20, ₹25,645.14 per month
