Role Definition:

The Steel Detailer & Checker will assist Project Leaders (PLs) and Project Managers (PMs) in managing and executing detailing projects. The role requires collaboration with project teams to ensure timely, accurate, and high-quality steel detailing work while adhering to AISC standards.

Job Responsibilities:

For Steel Detailers:

  • 3D Modelling & Detailing using Tekla/SDS2 as per project instructions.
  • Interpret & implement project specifications, contract drawings & RFIs.
  • Coordinate with engineers & other trades for seamless integration.
  • Identify design revisions and prepare ABM, ABM change sheets & hold lists.
  • Finalize packages for client submissions.
  • Study approval comments and explain them in BFA meetings.
  • Ensure documentation is complete, updated, and stored appropriately.
  • Follow company standards with minimal supervision and high quality.
  • Report errors immediately to avoid project delays.

For Checkers:

  • Review & validate Shop drawings, erection drawings and 3D models to match project contract drawings, client standards and AISC compliance.
  • Ensure quality control by identifying and correcting detailing errors.
  • Collaborate with detailing teams to resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain project progress and keep documentation up to date.

General Responsibilities:

  • Meet deadlines while maintaining high accuracy and efficiency.
  • Stay updated with project specifications & client standards.
  • Read & apply project-related communications.
  • Train & mentor junior team members in detailing techniques.
  • Prepare RFIs and report project status to Sr. PEs, PLs, and PMs.
  • Work in a team-oriented environment with professionalism & enthusiasm.
  • Attend training programs (Technical & Non-Technical) organized by management.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Software Expertise: SDS2 / Tekla Structures
  • Industry Knowledge: Civil & Structural Engineering with AISC Standards

Technical Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in Modelling, Editing & Checking using SDS2/Tekla
  • Ability to provide technical training to team members
