Roles & Responsibilities:: WordPress Development Responsibilities

• Website Development & Customization: Design, develop, and maintain WordPress websites, ensuring functionality across devices and alignment with user needs and business goals. Customize themes, templates, and plugins to meet specific requirements.
• Plugin Management: Install, configure, and manage third-party plugins to enhance website functionality. Ensure plugins are compatible, up-to-date, and perform optimally without causing conflicts.
• Responsive & User-Friendly Design: Implement responsive web design for seamless viewing across devices. Optimize user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) to improve customer engagement.
• Performance Optimization: Optimize websites for speed, responsiveness, and smooth performance. Minimize load times by optimizing images, scripts, and server configurations.
• Website Reliability: Ensure websites are fully functional, secure, and always live. Regularly perform backups, monitor uptime, and proactively resolve issues to maintain consistent site reliability.
• Security Management: Implement security best practices to safeguard websites against hacks, malware, and other cyber threats. Regularly update security plugins and monitor vulnerabilities.
• Maintenance & Updates: Perform routine maintenance on websites, including updates to themes, plugins, and WordPress core to maintain security and functionality.
• E-commerce Development: Build and maintain e-commerce websites (e.g., WooCommerce) by setting up product pages, shopping carts, payment gateways, and optimizing user experience for better conversion rates.

SEO Responsibilities

• On-Page SEO Optimization: Conduct keyword research, optimize meta tags, titles, descriptions, headings, and images. Ensure content is well-structured for both users and search engines.
• Technical SEO: Implement technical SEO best practices, such as improving website speed, mobile-friendliness, and structured data (Schema markup).
• Link Building & Off-Page SEO: Develop and execute strategies to acquire high-quality backlinks to boost site authority.
• SEO Audits & Analytics: Perform regular SEO audits, monitor keyword rankings, and analyze website performance using tools like Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and other SEO platforms (Ahrefs, SEMrush, Moz, etc.).
• Local SEO: Manage local SEO efforts, including Google Business Profile optimization, local citations, and reviews.
• Content Collaboration: Work closely with content teams to ensure SEO best practices are applied to blogs, product pages, landing pages, and other content.

Flexibility & Collaboration

• Agile Development: Ability to work in an agile environment, adapt to changing project requirements, and meet tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality output.
• Team Collaboration: Collaborate with designers, developers, marketers, and other teams to deliver integrated, high-performing websites. Adapt SEO strategies to align with web development efforts.
• Continuous Learning: Stay updated on the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies. Be flexible in adopting new SEO techniques, WordPress features, and eCommerce capabilities.

Qualifications & Skills

• Proven experience with WordPress development, including custom themes, plugins, and Gutenberg blocks.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL for website customization and development.
• Experience in eCommerce development with platforms like WooCommerce, including product setup, payment gateway integration, and optimizing the shopping experience.
• Strong understanding of SEO principles, both technical and content-based (on-page, off-page, technical SEO).
• Experience with SEO tools such as Yoast/RankMath, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush, etc.
• Ability to ensure website reliability by proactively addressing potential issues and ensuring minimal downtime.
• Strong knowledge of website performance optimization: improving load times, server-side optimization, image optimization, and ensuring a smooth user experience.
• Solid understanding of security best practices to protect websites from cyber threats.
• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with a remote team.

Preferred Qualifications (Optional)

• Experience working with large-scale WordPress websites and handling heavy traffic.
• Familiarity with page builders (e.g., Elementor, WPBakery) and creating custom solutions.
• Understanding of Core Web Vitals and experience with optimizing websites based on them.
• Basic knowledge of graphic design tools (Figma, Adobe XD, Photoshop) for mockups and website design.
• Experience with conversion rate optimization (CRO) techniques for improving eCommerce sites.
• Knowledge of Google Tag Manager, conversion tracking, and analytics tools to assess website performance.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20, ₹30,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Kozhikode, Kerala: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
