Job Title: IT Executive – Networking & Computer SystemsPosition Summary
The IT Executive is responsible for overseeing the organization's computer systems, network infrastructure, and IT operations. This role ensures that all technology systems and services operate effectively, securely, and in alignment with business goals. The IT Executive leads the IT team, manages system upgrades, implements cybersecurity protocols, and provides technical support to staff.
Key Responsibilities
1. Network & Infrastructure Management
- Plan, install, configure, and maintain the company's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and wireless networks.
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and ensure system uptime and reliability.
- Oversee server management, data backups, disaster recovery, and network security measures.
2. Systems Administration
- Manage and maintain all computer hardware, software, and operating systems across departments.
- Ensure proper configuration and updating of user accounts, permissions, and IT assets.
- Coordinate with vendors for equipment procurement, licensing, and maintenance contracts.
3. Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Implement and monitor IT security policies, firewall configurations, and antivirus systems.
- Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments.
- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001, etc.).
4. Team Leadership & Support
- Supervise IT support staff and provide guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Establish IT support procedures and ensure timely resolution of technical issues.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify and address technology needs.
5. Strategic Planning
- Develop and manage the IT budget, forecasting hardware/software needs and upgrades.
- Recommend and implement new technologies to improve efficiency and scalability.
- Participate in business continuity and IT modernization planning.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure or network administration; 2+ years in a leadership role preferred.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewalls).
- Experience with Windows Server, Linux, and cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud).
- Familiarity with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) and backup solutions.
- Proficiency in endpoint management and cybersecurity tools.
Soft Skills
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational abilities.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize under pressure.
