Job Title: Senior Cloud Data Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Cloud Data Engineer to join our growing Data Platform Architecture team. This role is pivotal in shaping our Enterprise Data Platform, collaborating with data engineering and science teams, and contributing to transformative analytical solutions that drive innovation across our organization.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Design and develop enterprise data solutions, ensuring alignment with Hyatt's target state architecture and standards.
• Implement data migration, data delivery, and machine learning pipelines.
• Build resilient, reliable, performant, and secure data platforms and applications.
• Collaborate with application development and data engineering teams on daily tasks, project planning, and implementation.
• Automate deployments of AWS services and business intelligence applications.
• Provide expert guidance to projects, ensuring processes and deliverables meet architectural standards.
• Implement Identity Access Management roles and policies.
• Stay informed on the latest cloud resources, leading efforts to prototype and integrate new technologies.
• Support and enhance cloud monitoring and alert systems for resource availability.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields; advanced degree preferred.
• 6+ years of experience in application/platform engineering or related technical roles, including business intelligence and analytics.
• 4+ years of experience with AWS cloud data engineering, management, and architecture.
• Strong SQL expertise and experience with data warehousing platforms such as Snowflake or Redshift.
• Experience in designing and building scalable data pipelines and feature engineering pipelines.
• Effective problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Tools and Technologies:

• Proficiency with AWS services: Lambda, S3, AWS Glue, Kinesis, Firehose, Athena, CloudWatch, DynamoDB, API Gateway.
• Strong scripting abilities in Python and SQL, with experience in Unix shell scripting.
• Experience with CI/CD tools: GitHub, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, CloudFormation, and Terraform.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS Fargate.
• Familiarity with feature stores like Tecton or SageMaker.
• Experience with large-scale enterprise streaming services like Kafka.
• Knowledge of user authentication and authorization across systems and environments.
• Experience with both Windows and Linux server operating systems.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with networking, security groups, or policy management in cloud environments.
• Experience with NoSQL databases and modern ETL tools like Informatica PowerCenter and IICS.
• Experience with workflow orchestration tools like Airflow.
