Fitter – Precision Engineering

Key Responsibilities

Assemble, fit, and install mechanical components and machinery as per specifications and engineering drawings.

Interpret blueprints and technical diagrams to determine components and assembly requirements.

Cut, shape, weld, and fabricate parts to ensure precise fitting and alignment of assemblies.Inspect and measure components with gauges, calipers, micrometers, and other precision instruments to confirm dimensional accuracy.

​Perform routine and preventive maintenance of machines and equipment, diagnosing faults and repairing or replacing parts as needed.​

Maintain clear records of maintenance, inspection, and repair work undertaken.​

Collaborate with engineers and technicians on the shop floor to resolve mechanical issues and optimize production workflows.

Adhere strictly to safety protocols and quality standards in all work operations.

Ensure proper operation and functionality of final assemblies before handing over for use or inspection.

Qualifications

  • ITI certification in Fitting, Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or relevant technical qualification.​
  • Experience in mechanical fitting within precision engineering or manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.​
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and precise measurement instruments.
  • Skills and Competencies
  • Technical understanding of machine assemblies and mechanical systems.​
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.​
  • Attention to detail and precision work ethic.​
  • Good physical stamina and manual dexterity to handle mechanical tasks.​
  • Knowledge of workplace safety procedures and regulations.​​
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
