Staff Software Engineer – AI Platform (Java//python, AWS/Azure/GCP, Docker/Kubernetes)

Desired Experience Range 15-20 years

Must-Have

  • Proven experience leading technical teams and delivering strategic platforms.

  • Proficiency in modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Go, Python, JavaScript).

  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Experience with AI and machine learning engineering platforms (e.g., MCP, A2A).

  • Hands-on experience with containerisation and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD tools.

  • Experience with SCRUM/Lean Agile frameworks and MVP delivery.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for technical audiences.

  • Ability to prioritise work, resolve conflicts, and manage delivery across multiple efforts.

  • Detail-oriented, self-organised, and adaptable to fast-paced environments.

  • Passion for Disney's mission and values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance architectures for AI-driven platforms.

  • Ensure architectural decisions align with business goals and technical standards.

  • Collaborate with product managers, stakeholders, and engineering teams to integrate architecture into product roadmaps.

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams.

  • Conduct code reviews and enforce coding standards and best practices.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across distributed systems.

  • Drive adoption of new technologies and methodologies to enhance platform capabilities.

  • Champion agile practices, including MVP and iterative development approaches.

  • Promote transparency, predictability, and collaboration across engineering teams.

  • Advocate for organisation-wide best practices in ideation, delivery, and customer engagement.

  • Model inclusive behaviours and company cultural attributes.

  • Exercise sound judgment when navigating risks, blockers, or trade-offs
