Job Description – What You'll Do

The Marketing Engineering organization in 
Strategy, Planning & Operations
 is looking for a 
Data Engineer
 eager to provide the engineering muscle for core engineering work around 
data architecture, data pipeline development, and deploying production workflows
 to continue improving our 
data & reporting needs for Marketing in an AI-driven future.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with a technical leader to drive major engineering initiatives that support decision-making by the business.
  • Manage production data workflows, ensuring timely updates through a standard 
    SDLC process.
  • Design and develop new architectures and workflows to support growing business needs of Cisco Marketing.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience with 
    data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL pipeline development.
  • Strong in SQL, Python, and Unix/Bash scripting.
  • Experience working with Docker, Git, and cloud platforms
     such as 
    Google Cloud & Azure.
  • Skilled at writing complex, optimized SQL queries
     across large datasets.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Proven experience in engaging with users, technical teams, and senior management for 
    requirement gathering, data modeling decisions, and data engineering strategy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS/MS in Computer Science or Engineering.
  • 3+ years
     of experience in 
    Data Engineering
     or similar roles is Mandatory.
  • Knowledge of 
    software engineering best practices
     across development lifecycles, including:
  • Agile methodologies
  • Coding standards
  • Code reviews
  • Source management
  • Build processes
  • Testing & operations
