Position Overview

The Deputy Librarian will support the Librarian in planning, managing, and developing library resources and services to meet the academic, research, and administrative needs of the University. The role involves leadership in digital initiatives, research support, user services, and supervision of library staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Librarian in formulating and implementing library policies, systems, and procedures.
• Supervise library operations including acquisitions, cataloguing, circulation, digital resource management, and reference services.
• Support faculty, researchers, and students with information and research needs, including bibliometric analysis and research visibility.
• Promote digital library initiatives, institutional repositories, and e-resource management.
• Conduct orientation and training programs for faculty, research scholars, and students on information literacy, plagiarism tools, and research databases.
• Manage library staff, allocate work, and ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
• Coordinate with vendors and publishers for subscriptions, renewals, and licensing of e-resources.
• Prepare reports, statistics, and documentation for NAAC, NBA, NIRF, and other accreditation/assessment processes.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and best practices in library and information science.
