Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Power BI Developer with 5 to 7 years of experience to design, develop, and optimize scalable dashboards and reporting solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Power BI, DAX, Power Query, and complex SQL, along with a solid understanding of data governance and modeling best practices. This role requires close collaboration with business analysts, data engineers, and key stakeholders to deliver data-driven insights that support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop advanced Power BI dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights to business stakeholders.
  • Optimize report performance and user experience using Power BI best practices, including efficient data modeling and DAX calculations.
  • Write and maintain complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and prepare data from various sources.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective BI and reporting solutions.
  • Build, maintain, and enhance data models in Power BI, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and long-term scalability.
  • Implement and adhere to data governance, data quality, and metadata standards across reporting assets.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for reports, datasets, models, and processes.
  • Provide support, training, and guidance to end-users to promote effective use of Power BI reports and dashboards.
  • Participate in code reviews, QA activities, and performance tuning to ensure optimal solution delivery.

Must-Have Skills:

  • 57 years of professional experience as a Power BI Developer in an enterprise environment.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, and Power BI Workspace management.
  • Expertise in DAX, Power Query (M language), and optimizing data models for performance.
  • Strong proficiency in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries across large and diverse datasets.
  • Proven ability to design visually compelling, performant, and user-friendly Power BI dashboards aligned with business needs.
  • Experience collaborating with analysts and business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver data insights.
  • Proficient in maintaining and validating semantic models and ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
  • Knowledge of data governance, documentation, and best practices for BI solution development.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills with a collaborative mindset.

Good-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience with additional BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlik, Looker).
  • Exposure to cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python for data analysis or automation.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams involving data engineering, product, and business teams.
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL pipelines, and modern data architectures.
