Cyber Security & Networking Specialist (Onsite Resident Engineer)

Role Summary

We are seeking a qualified
Cyber Security & Networking Specialist
to provide dedicated onsite technical support for
Security Administration and Network Monitoring
. The role requires daily operational oversight of network and security devices, configuration management, incident troubleshooting, vulnerability remediation, and coordination with OEMs for hardware or software-related issues.

This is a hands-on role requiring strong fundamentals in
networking, cybersecurity operations, firewalls, log analysis, and network device configuration
.

Key Responsibilities

1. Security & Network Monitoring

  • Perform
    daily monitoring
    of the health and status of all
    Security and Network devices
    .
  • Monitor
    network connectivity
    , including performance and health of
    Switches, Firewalls, WAF, AAA, EMS
    , and other security tools.
  • Continuously monitor and analyze logs from
    Log Analyzer, AAA, EMS
    , and other security platforms.

2. Configuration & Administration

  • Perform
    configuration and re-configuration
    of:
  • NGFW (Next-Generation Firewalls)
  • WAF (Web Application Firewall)
  • AAA (Authentication, Authorization & Accounting)
    systems
  • EMS (Enterprise Management Systems)
  • Switches
    and other network/security components
  • Take
    regular configuration backups
    of all security and network devices and store them as per defined protocols.

3. Security Incident & Network Issue Troubleshooting

  • Troubleshoot
    security incidents
    and
    network issues
    in real time.
  • Resolve issues independently or escalate them to OEM/vendor support when necessary.
  • Identify, analyze, and remediate potential vulnerabilities in security and network devices.

4. Patch Management & Vulnerability Fixing

  • Apply
    software patches/firmware updates
    to all security and network devices as per OEM/Cybersecurity guidelines.
  • Fix vulnerabilities found during assessments, scans, logs, or OEM advisories.

5. OEM Coordination & Call Logging

  • Log support calls with
    OEM vendors
    for faulty part replacements, repairs, or technical escalations.
  • Track and coordinate resolution activities until closure.

6. Log Management & Compliance

  • Maintain
    log retention
    as per cybersecurity compliance requirements.
  • Move
    log backups to storage
    repositories when required.
  • Generate periodic log reports, analyze alarms, and inform concerned officials promptly.

7. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain all configuration, backup, patch, and incident documentation.
  • Generate
    daily/weekly/monthly
    reports as required.
  • Provide timely updates and incident summaries to the relevant teams.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Diploma or BE/B.Tech in IT / ECE / CSE from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum 2 years
    of relevant experience in cybersecurity and network operations.
  • Valid CCNA certification
    (mandatory) or equivalent networking certification.
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • Firewall administration (NGFW preferred)
  • Switch configuration and troubleshooting
  • WAF, AAA, EMS tools
  • Log analyzers and SIEM/log management platforms
  • Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, VLANs, Routing, Switching).
  • Experience in patching, upgrades, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Ability to troubleshoot security incidents, connectivity issues, and device performance problems.
  • Familiarity with cyber security compliance and log retention policies.
