Job Description

**Position:** Draftsman – Mechanical (Water & Wastewater Treatment Industry)

**Location:** Bangalore

**Department:** Engineering / Design

**Reports to:** Mechanical Design Engineer / Project Manager

Role Purpose

To prepare accurate and detailed mechanical drawings, piping layouts, and fabrication drawings for water and wastewater treatment plants, ensuring compliance with project specifications, standards, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

· Prepare 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD / SolidWorks / Revit for mechanical equipment and piping.

· Develop general arrangement (GA) drawings, P&IDs, piping isometrics, and equipment layouts.

· Draft fabrication drawings for tanks, pressure vessels, supports, and skids.

· Coordinate with design engineers to incorporate technical inputs and design modifications.

· Generate as-built drawings after project completion.

· Maintain proper document control for revisions and drawing updates.

· Assist in preparing material take-offs (MTOs), BOQs, and supporting procurement teams.

· Ensure all drawings comply with relevant ASME, IS, and project standards.

· Support project/site teams with technical drawings during installation and commissioning.

Qualifications & Experience

· Diploma / ITI in Mechanical Engineering / Draftsman (Mechanical).

· [2–5+] years of drafting experience in water & wastewater treatment industry or related fields (piping, mechanical equipment).

· Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D/3D); knowledge of SolidWorks/Revit is an advantage.

· Good knowledge of pumps, valves, piping, tanks, clarifiers, filters, and pressure vessels.

· Familiarity with P&ID development, piping codes, and drafting standards.

· Strong attention to detail and ability to work under project timelines.

Key Skills

· AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit (preferred)

· Piping layouts & fabrication drawings

· Knowledge of water treatment mechanical systems

· Strong coordination and communication skills

· Document management and revision control
