About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented HL7 Tester with expertise in healthcare domain testing to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and compliance of HL7 messaging and integrations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with healthcare interoperability standards and strong analytical skills to validate complex healthcare data exchanges.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform testing of HL7 v2.x, v3, FHIR, and other healthcare interoperability standards.
- Validate inbound and outbound HL7 messages for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Conduct functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing of healthcare applications.
- Create, review, and execute test cases, test scripts, and test data for HL7 interfaces.
- Work with development teams, business analysts, and integration specialists to identify defects and resolve issues.
- Utilize HL7 testing tools (e.g., HL7 Inspector, Cloverleaf, Mirth, etc.) to validate message structures.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations (HIPAA, HL7 standards, etc.).
- Document defects, prepare reports, and provide recommendations for process improvements.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience in HL7 message testing and healthcare domain projects.
- Strong understanding of HL7 standards (v2.x, v3, CDA, FHIR).
- Experience with healthcare systems such as EHR, EMR, LIS, HIS, or PACS.
- Familiarity with integration engines (Mirth Connect, Cloverleaf, Rhapsody, etc.).
- Proficiency in SQL and data validation.
- Knowledge of testing methodologies (manual and automation).
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
Preferred
- Experience in automation testing tools (Selenium, SoapUI, Postman, etc.).
- Knowledge of API testing for FHIR/REST services.
- Certification in HL7 or healthcare IT (optional but a plus).
