Job brief

The Technical Services Laboratory Technician Trainee develops skills and knowledge to support sales and operations by performing quality and verifiable tests on drilling fluids and cement systems and preparing laboratory reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Performs API recognized, and non-API recognized tests on Drilling Fluids/Cement Slurries as per Client request.
  • Assists the maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.
  • Performs non-routine testing for critical wells.
  • Performs drilling fluids/cement additives quality assurance/quality control laboratory testing for routine and critical jobs.
  • Reviews work booklets, analysis sheets, and computer generated reports prepared by Laboratory Technicians,prepares periodic summary reports as required.
  • Monitors laboratory working areas to ensure clean, orderly,and safe working conditions.
  • Disposal of laboratory waste according to properly conducted methods.
  • Maintains laboratory results database.
  • Working and providing test information to clients and other Company personnel.
  • Dealing with vendors for ordering samples,supplies, chemicals, and parts for department operations.
  • Complies with applicable company policies', including Personnel, Quality System and Health, Safety and Environment standards and procedures.
  •  Maintaining given company Staff house.
  • Supporting in field operation related to Company yard work.
  • Able to work alone single handed at Base/yard in Baroda.
  • Sometime visit field operation in India as per reporting manager for learning and supporting.

Candidate requirements:

  • For Entry Level Candidate must have full time degree in Petroleum/Mechanical/Chemical Engineer.
  • For Experience – Candidate must be have experience of Cementing Operation or Lab Technician in Oil & Gas Sector.
  • Minimum 1 years' Oil and Gas related experience in Laboratory or Field preferred, Specially in cementing services.
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Creative and innovative in providing quality solutions, analytical and solution oriented.
  • Basic Decision Making: Involved in developing, modifying and executing company policies
  • Decisions will impact upon schedules and on individual operations.
  • Able to identify problems and/ or obstacles.
