Software Engineer

• As a Software Engineer QA Manual, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software applications through rigorous testing and analysis. You will collaborate with the development team to identify, document, and resolve any defects or issues that may impact the software's functionality or performance. Your expertise in testing tools such as SoapUI, Postman, SQL development, and test management tools will be instrumental in carrying out your responsibilities effectively.

Core Capabilities:

• Testing Expertise: Proficient in designing and executing test cases, test plans, and test scripts. Experience in both manual and automated testing methodologies.
• Test Management: Familiarity with test management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, HP ALM, or similar, to track and manage test cases, defects, and overall testing progress.
• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of SoapUI and Postman for API testing. Proficiency in SQL development to perform database testing and validation.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and analyze software defects, providing detailed reports and collaborating with the development team to resolve issues.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate test results, issues, and recommendations to stakeholders.

Key Responsibility Areas

Test Planning and Design:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand software requirements and define comprehensive test plans.
• Design and create test cases, test scenarios, and test scripts based on functional and technical specifications.
• Ensure test coverage for different application modules and integration points.

Test Execution and Defect Management:

• Execute test cases, record and analyze test results, and document any defects or issues found.
• Perform both manual and automated testing, utilizing SoapUI, Postman, and other relevant tools.
• Collaborate with developers to reproduce, debug, and resolve reported defects.
• Monitor defect resolution progress and verify fixes to ensure software quality.

Test Documentation and Reporting:

• Prepare test documentation, including test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test data.
• Generate test reports summarizing test results, metrics, and any identified issues.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date test documentation for future reference and audits.

Continuous Improvement:

• Stay updated with the latest testing techniques, tools, and trends.
• Identify areas for process improvement and suggest strategies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the testing process.
• Actively participate in agile development processes and provide feedback on the software development lifecycle.

Minimum Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years of professional experience as a Tester or Software QA Engineer.
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with SoapUI and Postman for API testing.
• Proficiency in SQL development for database testing and validation.
• Familiarity with test management tools like Jira, Azure DevOps, or HP ALM.
• Solid understanding of software development methodologies and testing best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a team.
