A medical representative (MR) is a pharmaceutical sales professional responsible for promoting and selling medicines or medical equipment to doctors, pharmacists, and hospitals. The role combines science, communication, and sales to help healthcare providers understand and adopt new or existing products in their clinical practice .

Promote and sell pharmaceutical products, medical equipment, and devices to healthcare professionals within an assigned territory ��.Conduct regular visits to clinics, hospitals, and pharmacies to discuss product information such as usage, dosage, and benefits

��.Build and maintain strong professional relationships with doctors, pharmacists, and other medical staff to ensure long-term collaboration ��.Gather market intelligence including competitor activities, customer feedback, and new opportunities, and report to internal teams

��.Ensure compliance with company policies and ethical medical marketing guidelines �.Use CRM tools to manage customer data, track visits, and measure sales performance.

*Skills and Qualification* Bachelor's degree in life sciences, pharmacy, nursing, or business administration ��.Strong product knowledge and understanding of medical terminology and pharmacology ��.Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities .

��.Ability to plan territory coverage, manage time effectively, and meet or exceed sales targets .

��.Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel extensively .

*Typical Daily Activities* Scheduling and attending appointments with healthcare professionals .

�.Delivering product presentations and demonstrations supported by clinical data .

�.Organizing conferences, group meetings, and promotional campaigns �.Reviewing weekly and monthly sales performance and creating progress reports �.Attending product training, workshops, and company meetings to stay updated .

Experienced medical representatives can progress to roles such as area sales manager, product manager, marketing executive, or regional business head within the pharmaceutical industry.
