Applications Developer

Oracle is looking for a Principal Applications Engineer to be part of Health Sciences Group, who will design, develop, test and deploy enterprise applications. Responsibilities:

Responsible for DB design, PLSQL Development, Impact Analysis and database Performance tuning.

Handle critical Incidents and Problems raised due to the database related issues.

As an Oracle DB / PL/SQL Developer, you will be a key member of the Database Group responsible for providing overall database support in back-end programming.

The PL/SQL Developer will be responsible to properly maintain source code sets and necessary technical documentation, and assist in overall database maintenance.

Hands on experience on building highly scalable enterprise grade application with built in high availability and disaster recovery.

Work with cross-functional team members from Architecture, Product Strategy & Development, QA, Sales & Services, and other Central teams to architect and design multiple products

Good knowledge of Java/JEE technologies, JavaScript, jQuery, JSF and frameworks such as JPA, JDBC, Web Services paradigms like REST, RDBMS (preferably Oracle) will be an added advantage

Good understanding of at least one of the modern MV* frameworks (Angular, React/Redux, and Knockout)

Understand and be able to create Responsive UI elements either by hand (grid or flex box layout), or leveraging a framework like Foundation

Object Oriented Design & Development skills with hands on experience in enterprise cloud application design, micro service development and deployment.

Solid programming experience and very strong in programming disciplines like object oriented principles, design patterns, data structures and unit testing

Experience with Weblogic, Tomcat, Docker, Kubernetes.

Experience working on cloud services with modern cloud technologies.

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment

Excellent time management and communication skills and a great team player

Experience with agile methodologies.

Excellent in technical design, internally recognized as highly competent in technical areas, will review and participate in product architecture and design

Passionate for continuous learning, experimenting and applying cutting edge technology and software paradigms

Deeper understanding of design principles and methods, technology and standards, actively stay abreast of trends and standards, recommend best practices and share learning

Troubleshoot defects and provide recommended solutions to optimize existing application

Providing technical assistance, problem resolution and troubleshooting support.

Preferably experience with application development in Health Sciences domain

In this role, you'll leverage your knowledge of Oracle database development and be instrumental in the successful implementation of our browser-based, enterprise software product.

Qualifications:

BS/MS in Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent.

12+ years of experience in DBA, Development in PL/SQL along with DATABASE Performance Tuning.

Expert in Oracle Database Performance Tuning and SQL Tuning.

Expert in understanding Physical design aspects like partitioning, clustering, indexing, scaling etc.

Expert in analyzing of Explain plan, AWR, ADDM, ASH, SQLTRPT, 10046 Trace and TKPROF reports etc. and resolve performance issues.

Must have experience in working in RAC and EXADATA.

Have experience in capacity planning.

Hands on experience in Oracle performance optimizations, Oracle Memory components, understanding explain plans, redo logs/checkpoint tuning, Oracle parameters, ability to work with global teams and help advice and code database performance enhancements.

Efficiently and effectively, fix and resolve any Database, Network and OS related issues that arises at production or at internal environment.

Past experience in resolving production real-time slowness issue.

Perform PLSQL and SQL Code review from database Performance perspective.

Monitor end to end application performance and troubleshoot database performance issues proactively.

Evaluation of new and upcoming technologies and database versions.

Good Knowledge of Linux and Shell Scripting

Good to have in depth knowledge of Oracle DB and Linux.

Good to have basic knowledge of Networking.

Good to have knowledge of Java / Java Script / Python

Develop, design, test and implement complex database programs using Oracle and third party tools

Experience with Oracle Version 19c and above.

Strong experience with oracle functions, procedures, triggers, packages & performance tuning

Ensure that database programs are in compliance with V3 standards

Must have experience working with RDBMS, SQL or no-SQL databases

Strong understanding of relational database and Data warehousing concepts.

Have hands-on experience in analyzing OS stats and OS related issues.

Experience in using Oracle database 19c multi-tenant features.

Database design for cloud solutions (0 downtime DB upgrades, scaling databases)

Strong understanding and experience in dimensional modeling, data analysis, OLTP, data warehouse and business intelligence solutions

Strong implementation experience of logical and physical models in 3NF and star schemas

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment

Excellent time management and communication skills and a great team player

Analyze, design develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for commercial or end user applications. Writes code, completes programming and performs testing and debugging of applications.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will analyze and integrate external customer specifications. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture. Build new products and development tools. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to discuss major changes to functionality.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others.
