Role & responsibilities:

  • Look after & manage the patients under the guidance of the consultant
  • In the absence of the Consultant to faithfully look after the patients along the indicated line of treatment
  • To be an in-house consultant for all emergency situations encountered in the hospital
  • Actively participate in presentations of CMEs and Journal clubs
  • Assist the consultants in all emergency cases.
  • Participate actively in the teaching program of nursing staff and technicians
  • Supervise all nursing/ para medical & non medical staff of the department to maintain discipline and high standard of medical care at the department as per standard operating procedure.
  • Assists the Consultant for:

A. Special material management requirement

B. Ensure quality of performance of the department

C. Complaint redressal of patients

  • To access all the Critical Care patients daily and to ensure that they are receiving appropriate Medical Care
  • To ensure that patients condition is communicated correctly to the relatives and all their queries are answered appropriately
  • To help the Sr.Resident & Residents manage critically ill patients in Critical Care.
  • To create an ideal learning atmosphere in the department where each Sr.Resident & Residents can get a chance to improve upon his/her clinical skills.
  • To ascertain the strict implementation of various working protocols like BLS, ACLS and infection control
  • To help the consultants for the Peripheral OPD/ Camps.
  • Will be required to assist the Sr.Consultant/ Consultants for the various procedures as and when required.
  • To carry out regular procedures such as CART, PTCA, Pacemaker insertion, Balloon Vasectomy
  • To prepare the patients reports regularly (Min thrice a week)
  • To contribute to the organization on the Academic front as well
  • To remain on Call during the night.
  • Perform independently /assist in procedures as per the clinical privileges authorized
  • Treat & manage the / In patients
  • Maintain a patient log book/ records
  • Monitor daily outdating. To review all use as needed and discuss problems with consultant.
  • To assist with review of patient's medical records as part of quality assurance studies. Gather data for quality assurance studies.
  • Actively participate in presentations of CME's and Journal clubs. Assist the consultant
  • To complete patient history form, visit patient and review medical record. Obtain relevant clinical information for inclusion in report.

Preferred candidate profile

Qualification Required MD Anesthesia/ MD Pulmonology/ DM Critical Care/ IDCCM

Preferred candidate with Punjab Medical Council registration
