A Punjab Head of Agri Inputs is a senior leadership role responsible for the entire sales and business operations of agricultural products, such as pesticides, insecticides, fertilizers, and seeds etc. across the state of Punjab. This professional is a strategic leader who drives growth, manages a large team, and nurtures a robust network of distributors, dealers, and institutional clients etc.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning & Sales Execution: Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue and market share targets for the Punjab region. This includes setting sales budgets, forecasting demand, and creating tactical plans for product launches and promotional campaigns.
- Team Leadership and Management: Lead, mentor, and motivate a good-sized sales and marketing team. Conduct regular performance reviews, provide training, and foster a high-performance work culture to ensure targets are met and employees are developed.
- Channel Network Management: Manage and expand the existing network of distributors and dealers to ensure widespread product availability. This involves building strong relationships, negotiating contracts, and implementing channel-specific schemes and incentives.
- Institutional Sales and Key Accounts: Spearhead sales to large institutional clients, such as corporate farms, government bodies, and large-scale agricultural projects. Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key decision-makers to secure major contracts and ensure repeat business.
- Market Intelligence and Analysis: Constantly monitor market trends, competitor activities, and changes in agricultural policies in Punjab. Provide regular reports and insights to senior management to help the company stay competitive and adapt its strategies.
- Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination: Collaborate with the supply chain and logistics teams to ensure optimal inventory levels and timely delivery of products to prevent stockouts or overstocking.
- Farmer Engagement: Work with the field team to organize farmer meetings, field demonstrations, and farmer education programs to build brand loyalty and promote the correct usage of products.
The ability to speak and understand Punjabi is a significant advantage.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Education: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Agriculture or Agribusiness Management is mandatory.
- Experience: A minimum of 6+ years of progressive experience in agri inputs sales and marketing, with a proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets. Prior experience in a leadership or managerial role is essential.
- Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of agri inputs products (pesticides, insecticides, fertilizers, seeds, etc.), soil science, and regional cropping patterns in Punjab. Proficiency in sales management software and data analysis is also crucial.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional leadership and team management skills, strong business acumen, excellent communication and negotiation abilities, and a deep understanding of the local culture and agrarian landscape of Punjab.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹1,000, ₹1,250,000.00 per year
