Role & responsibilities

• The Medical Officer (MO) will serve as the in-charge and be fully responsible for the efficient and smooth functioning

of the mmu.

• All mmu staff will operate under the daily supervision and guidance of the MO.

• The MO will coordinate with nursing, paramedical, and non-medical staff to ensure daily outpatient (OP) services are

conducted as per the monthly roster.

• Responsible for patient screening, diagnosis, treatment, and referral to higher centers when necessary.

• For all referrals, the MO will issue clear and detailed referral slips and maintain appropriate records.

• Provide counselling and health education to beneficiaries, and coordinate with clinic staff to organize thematic

Health Days and awareness programs.

• Ensures that patient clinical findings and other essential details are updated regularly in the Electronic Medical

Records (EMR) system.

• Oversees the availability of essential medicines , consumables and medical equipments .Any shortages must be

promptly reported to the Project Coordinator.

• Adheres to the prescribed reporting protocols i.e either telephonic, email, or written to the Project Manager or

designated authority and participates in review meetings as required.

• Establishes and maintains liaison with local hospitals, practitioners, welfare associations, and NGOs for effective

networking and coordination.

• Takes prompt and appropriate actions during disease outbreaks or epidemics, informs the concerned local health

authorities, and provides necessary support as feasible
