The Senior Manager FinOps AP/AR will be responsible for service delivery of our Accounts Payable/Receivable function for a specific geo / country and will partner with a diverse set of stakeholders within the Finance Shared Service Organization as well as the business. A key responsibility will be to deliver existing services at a high degree of accuracy, timeliness and controllership, besides supporting the growth in business. Leading a team of ~ resources, this position will provide overall leadership and direction to the team.

This role requires one to be a self-starter with strong business modeling skills, a keen attention to detail and good track record of collaborating with diverse stakeholders. This role has regular interaction with senior leadership and stakeholders across Amazon and requires strong verbal and written communication skills. The candidate will need to be capable of operating with a high degree of autonomy, and hence needs to demonstrate a high degree of comfort with ambiguity besides holding a high bar on performance. The candidate will need to have a proven track record for hiring, developing and retaining the best talent.

Management responsibilities

  • Performs autonomously, initiates and manages complex, departmental and/or cross- company work.
  • Managing group workload and establishing priorities.
  • Is expected to set and improve policies and procedures, maintaining full compliance, implementing best practices.
  • Focus is broad, will serve as a consultant or lead on projects and areas of finance or support of a business.
  • This position will also act as an escalation point in resolving complex issues with internal / external business partners.
  • Significantly participates in recruiting efforts. Continually raises the bar.
  • Significant role in career development of the team.
  • Drives execution of vision and goals for the team.
  • Responsible for developing and communicating team or department vision and goals.

Function Responsibilities

  • Drive development and expansion of systems and processes required to execute on-time payments to Vendors; billing & collections from Customers.
  • Build and monitor performance metrics, with focus on ensuring on-time payments, cost out initiatives and estimating future headcount growth.
  • Lead a team of Analysts with +6 Directs across Payables/Receivables process.
  • Drive the expansion of self-service functionality in order to improve vendor experience and reduce manual processes.
  • Maintain weekly and monthly communications and metrics reporting with CFO and Business Leaders
  • Developing, modifying and maintaining the operational and design effectiveness of internal controls
  • Lead cross functional systems and process improvement initiatives
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • 12+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
  • 3+ years of performing financial and ad hoc analysis using data reporting tools experience
  • 10+ years of positions that require analysis and reporting financial results experience
  • 8+ years of Accounts Receivable or Account Payable experience
  • 8+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
  • 8+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
  • 8+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
  • 7+ years of directly managing and leading a team of 10+ members experience
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years of hiring, leading and developing teams experience
  • 8+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
  • 8+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
  • 8+ years of mentoring junior finance and/or business team members experience
  • 5+ years of working with senior staff (e.g. c-suite) experience
  • MBA, or CPA
