Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled SMT Process Engineer to join our dynamic manufacturing team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and optimizing SMT (Surface Mount

Technology) processes, ensuring high-quality electronic assembly, and leading continuous

improvement initiatives. This role demands hands-on proficiency in SMT equipment operations,

programming, maintenance, and a deep understanding of the entire SMT assembly process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up, program, operate, and maintain SMT equipment, including screen printers, SPI,

pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, AOI, and routing machines.

  • Review Gerber files for design feasibility and manufacturability; provide feedback to

design teams and coordinate with suppliers for stencil design and manufacturing.

  • Optimize stencil designs based on product requirements and process capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain SMT manufacturing processes, including Pin-in-Paste, wave

soldering, solder pasting, and component placement.

  • Establish and control materials management, ensuring proper usage and storage for

quality assurance.

  • Monitor and analyze process performance; address and resolve process abnormalities

and equipment issues promptly.

  • Conduct root cause analysis for yield issues, and drive corrective and preventive actions

to reduce rejection rates and improve pass rates.

  • Support Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement initiatives (Lean,

Kaizen, Six Sigma, etc.).

  • Program and set parameters for Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) and In-Circuit Test

(ICT) systems.

  • Create and manage ICT fixture setups, including QFP (Quad Flat Package) component

programming and inspection criteria.

  • Ensure compliance with IPC standards and best practices for SMT assembly.
  • Support internal and customer audits related to process capability and quality.
  • Train and support production staff in best practices and troubleshooting techniques.
