We are seeking developers with exceptional capabilities, specifically those who can be described as '
10x developers'
. These individuals are expected to be ten times more productive than our top developer, rather than the average developer

The ideal candidate should possess a combination of
Data Engineering + Software Engineer skills
, along with some experience on
machine learning engineering
. This includes not just technical proficiency but also the ability to implement solutions efficiently and productively, leveraging tools like co-pilots.

We are looking for individuals with a comprehensive skill set, akin to a
full-stack developer
, who can excel in
DevOps
and
data engineering.
This involves
data processing using Python and the AWS ecosystem, advanced skills in Snowflake and Databricks
, and
proficiency in Spark and lake house architecture, which encompasses ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) processes.

Design-related skills are crucial, including
reverse engineering, data modelling, and advanced analytics using SQL and NoSQL technologies
.
Candidates should also be adept at data visualization, with skills in matplotlib for Python users, and virtualization, involving advanced data API work with robust security measures.

Additionally, we are interested in
real-time data processing, particularly in messaging and streaming, as seen in ecosystems like Microsoft Data Fabric and AWS. Familiarity with data engineering paths from providers like AWS and Microsoft is advantageous
.

While not mandatory, a background in
advanced analytics, including machine learning
with supervised learning, is desirable. We are emphasising software engineering to ensure
comprehensive data handling capabilities.

The role demands a
full-stack approach to data engineering, encompassing design, processing, security, and deployment
. This aligns with
DevOps practices
and requires a blend of
software and data engineering skills
. The emphasis is on capabilities rather than specific technologies, seeking proficiency in cloud data platforms like
Snowflake or Databricks.

Core Technical Skills


• Cloud Platforms: Working knowledge of cloud-based data platforms (Snowflake or equivalent)


• AWS Ecosystem: Familiarity with AWS services particularly S3 and Glue


• Streaming Architecture: Basic understanding of event-based or streaming data concepts


• Programming: Good proficiency in Python and SQL


• DevOps: Familiarity with basic CI/CD concepts


• Data Security: Understanding of data access control concepts


• Database Systems: Experience with RDBMS (Oracle, Postgres, MSSQL)


• Data Integration: Basic understanding of ETL concepts


• Orchestration: Exposure to workflow tools (Airflow, Control-M, etc.)


• Engineering Practices: Familiarity with GitHub and version control principles


• Domain Knowledge: Willingness to learn investment management industry concepts

Bonus technical Skills:


• Basic understanding of containerization concepts


• Interest in API development


• Willingness to learn about Asset Management data domains

Key Soft Skills:
