Associate Director-Indirect Tax

It manages and delivers complex indirect tax projects, focusing on GST, Customs, and other related regulations, while also handling client relationships, team leadership, and business development. Key responsibilities include providing expert tax advice, overseeing compliance and litigation, coaching junior staff, and identifying new service opportunities for clients to navigate the evolving indirect tax landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Management:Develop and maintain strong client relationships, managing expectations and acting as a primary point of contact for indirect tax matters.
- Project Delivery:Lead and manage the complete lifecycle of indirect tax engagements, including planning, execution, and final delivery of projects.
- Technical Advisory:Provide expert advisory services on indirect tax laws, including Goods and Services Tax (GST), Customs Duty, and Foreign Trade Policy.
- Compliance & Litigation:Oversee pan-India indirect tax compliance services, review computations, manage statutory due dates, and represent clients in audits, assessments, and appeals before various authorities.
- Team Leadership:Mentor, coach, and performance-manage managers and assistant managers, fostering their technical skills and career development.
- Business Development:Proactively identify opportunities to provide additional services, support the development of new service offerings, and contribute to business growth by securing new clients and projects.
- Process Improvement:Implement best practices, develop value-added solutions, and help clients implement innovative ways to address their indirect tax needs.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Technical Expertise:A deep understanding of Indian indirect tax laws, including GST and Customs, and the ability to apply these to diverse client situations.
- Leadership & Management:Proven ability to manage teams, allocate resources, and drive workflow efficiency.
- Client-Facing Skills:Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills to effectively interact with clients and build strong relationships.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving:Strong analytical and advisory skills to provide insightful solutions to complex client challenges.
- Experience:Significant professional experience, preferably in a Big 4 consulting firm, with a track record of managing indirect tax engagements.
