We are seeking a skilled and motivated .NET Engineer to play a key role in our exciting journey to the cloud You will be a critical part of a team responsible for migrating our clients on-premise .NET apps to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and modernizing them to leverage the latest .NET technologies and containers.

Responsibilities:

  • Migration:
  • Assess and analyze existing on-premise .NET applications (Framework) to determine the best migration strategy to GCP.
  • Migrate applications to GCP using appropriate services, such as Compute Engine, App Engine, Cloud Run, Kubernetes Engine (GKE), and Cloud Functions.
  • Refactor and re-architect applications as needed to optimize for cloud-native architectures and GCP best practices.
  • Implement infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using tools like Terraform to automate the deployment and management of GCP resources.
  • Ensure data integrity and security during the migration process.
  • Work with database teams to migrate on-premise databases (e.g., SQL Server) to GCP managed database services (e.g., Cloud SQL, Cloud Spanner).
  • Modernization:
  • Upgrade existing .NET Framework applications to .NET Native to improve performance, security, and cross-platform compatibility.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to leverage modern .NET features and libraries.
  • Optimize application code for performance and scalability in a cloud environment.
  • Implement containerization using Docker and orchestration using Kubernetes (GKE).
  • Development & Collaboration:
  • Write clean, well-documented, and testable code.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving coding standards.
  • Collaborate with other engineers, architects, DevOps, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to migration, modernization, and application performance.
  • Contribute to the development of CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, testing, and deployment.

Qualifications:

  • Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in software development using .NET Framework (e.g., C#, ASP.NET MVC, Web API).
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and design patterns.
  • Experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • A desire to learn and grow in a cloud-focused environment.
  • Preferred:
  • Experience with .NET (Core/5+).
  • Experience with migrating applications to a cloud platform (GCP, AWS, Azure). GCP experience is highly preferred.
  • Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Cloud Build).
  • Familiarity with GCP services (Compute Engine, App Engine, Cloud Run, GKE, Cloud Functions, Cloud SQL, Cloud Spanner, etc.).
  • Experience with microservices architecture.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
