About the Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Java/J2EE Backend Engineer to join our technology team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about building scalable, high-performance, and secure backend systems that power business-critical applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design robust solutions, optimize performance, and ensure smooth integration across systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend systems and microservices using Java/J2EE technologies
  • Build and manage RESTful APIs for application and system integration
  • Design and optimize database schemas to ensure efficient and secure data management
  • Troubleshoot and resolve performance, scalability, and reliability challenges
  • Implement security best practices and protect backend systems from vulnerabilities
  • Integrate with third-party services and external APIs
  • Ensure high code quality through unit and integration testing
  • Participate in code reviews and provide technical mentorship
  • Collaborate with internal teams to translate business needs into technical solutions

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in backend software development using Java/J2EE
  • Strong knowledge of Java EE technologies such as Servlets, JSP, JDBC, JMS, and EJB
  • Expertise in Spring, Spring Boot, and Microservices Architecture
  • Experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle and SQL optimization
  • Hands-on experience with Git, Maven/Gradle, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes
  • Exposure to Confluent Kafka Cloud, Azure Services, Redis Cache, and GIS will be an added advantage
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
