Production Manager

Role & responsibilities

1. Production & Process Management Oversee and optimize the rubber extrusion process, ensuring maximum efficiency and minimal waste. Supervise and maintain the following production setup: Cutting Machines/Press: Operation and maintenance of rubber cutting machines. Notching Machines: Precise cutting and shaping for component accuracy. Child Parts Assembly with Glue (Manual Operation): Application of rubber-compatible adhesives for strong bonding. Bending and Moulding: Controlling moulding temperature, curing time, and pressure to ensure optimal product integrity. Final Packaging: Ensuring products are packed securely for OEM delivery standards. Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to maintain consistency and efficiency. Ensure two-shift operation runs smoothly with minimal downtime and efficient workforce allocation. 2. Technical Expertise in Rubber Processing Understand raw material properties (NR, SBR, EPDM, NBR, Silicone, etc.) and their behaviour under different processing conditions. Oversee the extrusion process parameters (temperature control, screw speed, and die maintenance). Monitor the vulcanization process to ensure rubber parts meet desired hardness, flexibility, and durability standards. Ensure compliance with OEM specifications and industry standards (ISO 9001, IATF Conduct process audits and implement continuous improvement methodologies like Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma. 3. Quality Assurance & Compliance Collaborate with QA teams and engineers to maintain high-quality standards. Ensure rigorous testing, including: Tensile strength testing for durability. Abrasion resistance tests for longevity. Compression set testing for deformation resistance. Aging and weathering tests for long-term reliability. Work closely with OEM customers to ensure defect-free product supply. Enforce strict compliance with automotive regulations, environmental norms (REACH, RoHS), and workplace safety guidelines. 4. Manpower & Resource Management Supervise a team comprising: 5 Staff Members 46 Production Workers 4 Supervisors 2 Forklift Operators Manage worker training programs to enhance technical skills and safety awareness. Implement efficient manpower allocation to optimize productivity across shifts. Coordinate with manpower suppliers to ensure an adequate workforce without exceeding cost constraints. 5. Inventory & Supply Chain Management Oversee inbound stores to ensure a steady supply of raw materials, including rubber compounds, additives, and adhesives. Optimize material consumption rates to reduce waste. Manage outbound logistics for on-time dispatch of finished products to OEMs. Work closely with procurement teams to ensure timely sourcing of materials while maintaining cost-effectiveness.

Preferred candidate profile

NIRT-trained personnel are also eligible.

4 to 5 years of experience in a rubber parts manufacturing plant (preferably automotive sector). Deep understanding of rubber compounding, extrusion, molding, and adhesive bonding techniques. Knowledge of rubber processing machinery, including extruders, mills, calenders, and presses. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint for reporting and data analysis. SAP knowledge is an added advantage.

Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Six Sigma methodologies. Excellent communication skills to coordinate between internal teams, suppliers, and OEM customers.
