Required Planning Engineer for Commercial Project (Rajahmundry)

Job Description:

A Planning Engineer in the construction industry (preferably commercial projects) with 5-10 years of experience is a critical role responsible for the planning and scheduling of construction projects. This position involves the development and maintenance of project schedules, resource allocation, and monitoring progress to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans and schedules, including timelines, milestones, and critical path analysis, in collaboration with project managers and other stakeholders.
  • Resource Allocation: Allocate resources such as labor, equipment, and materials efficiently to ensure optimal project productivity and cost-effectiveness.
  • Scheduling: Create detailed construction schedules using project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project) and maintain them throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Progress Monitoring: Continuously monitor project progress against the schedule, identify delays or issues, and implement corrective actions to keep the project on track.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and challenges that may impact project schedules and collaborate with project teams to develop risk mitigation strategies.
  • Budget Management: Assist in budget planning and control by providing cost and resource data to project managers. Ensure projects are completed within budget constraints.
  • Reporting: Prepare and deliver regular progress reports, schedule analysis, and performance metrics to project stakeholders, including senior management.
  • Change Management: Evaluate and assess the impact of changes in project scope or schedules. Implement change management processes as required.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of project schedules, changes, and communication related to planning activities.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and other team members to ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that project schedules adhere to quality standards and industry best practices.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies related to project planning and scheduling. Propose and implement process improvements.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in construction project planning and scheduling, with a strong focus on large-scale construction projects.
  • Proficiency in project management software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of construction project management principles, methodologies, and practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate project schedules and records.
  • Familiarity with risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide junior planning engineers.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations, codes, and standards.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is a plus.
