Position – SAP ABAP ConsultantKey Accountabilities & Responsibilities:Develop and Maintain ABAP Programs: Design, develop, and maintain custom ABAP programs and reports as per business requirements in ECC and S/4HANA environments. Develop CDS Views, OData services, and ABAP Managed Database Procedures (AMDP). Develop integration of ABAP applications on SAP ECC, S/4 HANA with SAP Fiori and SAP Cloud solutions.
Enhance Standard SAP Programs: Perform enhancements to standard SAP programs to meet specific business needs, including user exits, BADI implementations, and enhancement points. Data Conversion and Migration: Support data migration tasks by developing custom programs and scripts to upload data from legacy systems to SAP.Workflow Development: Design and implement SAP workflows to automate business processes and improve operational efficiency. Integration Development: Develop and maintain interfaces between SAP and non-SAP systems, such as using IDocs, BAPIs, ALE, RFC and Proxys.
EDI and IDoc Processing: Design, configure, and troubleshoot IDocs for seamless data exchange between SAP and external systems. API Development: Support API development and integrate third-party applications with SAP systems using SAP PI/PO, or SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI). Support development of Web Dynpro, SAP Gateway, REST, SOAP services for creating web services.
Debugging and Troubleshooting: Debug and troubleshoot issues in custom code, standard SAP applications, and integrations. Code Review and Optimization: Conduct code reviews to ensure best practices and performance optimization are followed across the development process. Module Expertise: Apply expertise in SAP modules like SAP FI, CO, MM, SD, or PP for ABAP development specific to those areas.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with functional consultants, business analysts, and end-users to gather requirements and ensure that technical solutions align with business needs. Technical Documentation: Create detailed documentation for custom ABAP developments, including functional specifications, technical design documents, and user manuals. Unit Testing and Quality Assurance: Develop and execute unit tests to ensure that the delivered solution meets business requirements and is free of defects.
User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Support: Provide support during UAT by troubleshooting and resolving issues identified by end users. Requirements5 years of hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development, including experience in full-cycle implementations and support. A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
SAP ABAP Certification or other relevant SAP certifications are a plus. Experience in gathering requirements from functional consultants and business users to implement SAP developments. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with business users and functional consultants.
Demonstrated experience in successful delivery of software solutions inclusive of Management of Change (MOC) and business mapping. Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in custom ABAP code and standard SAP applications. Experience with testing cycles (including SIT, UAT) and addressing defects during these phases.
Expertise in debugging and troubleshooting custom code, standard SAP reports, and performance-related issuesKnowledge and adherence to SAP best practices in ABAP coding standards, naming conventions, and code reviews.
