Role: Designer Aluminum Formwork

Job Purpose:

To create, verify, and manage the complete aluminum formwork design and detailing process including modulation drawings, shell plans, IPOs, and MS accessories drawings for efficient manufacturing and site execution.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Shell Plan & Modulation Drawing Preparation

  • Interpret architectural and structural drawings to prepare accurate shell plans.
  • Develop formwork modulation drawings as per project and site requirements.
  • Ensure maximum reuse of formwork components and standardization.

2. Drawing Verification & Quality Check

  • Verify incoming drawings for consistency and accuracy.
  • Conduct cross-functional reviews to ensure feasibility, design integrity, and compatibility with manufacturing constraints.
  • Ensure drawings are error-free and optimized for production and execution.

3. IPO (Item Planning Output) Preparation

  • Extract IPO data from modulation drawings.
  • Ensure correct tagging, quantity estimation, and component listing for manufacturing.
  • Coordinate with production and planning teams for alignment.

4. MS Accessories Drawing & IPO Preparation

  • Design and detail mild steel accessories such as brackets, anchors, and connectors.
  • Prepare corresponding IPOs for MS accessories.
  • Ensure compatibility of accessories with aluminum panels and structural requirements.

5. Coordination & Documentation

  • Coordinate with site teams, project engineers, and production for clarification and updates.
  • Maintain version control of drawings and documentation as per internal standards.
  • Assist in developing standard blocks and libraries for design reuse.

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of aluminum formwork systems, modulation concepts, and construction methodologies.

  • Proficient in AutoCAD, and optionally Revit or similar CAD tools.

  • Experience with IPO extraction, component detailing, and drawing verification.

  • Soft Skills:

  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.

  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving.

  • Preferred Tools Knowledge:

  • AutoCAD (Mandatory)

  • MS Excel, Word (Basic documentation & IPO formatting)
  • Revit / 3D modeling (Preferred but not mandatory)

Educational Qualification:

  • Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

Preferred Experience:

  • 25 years in formwork design (Aluminum system formwork preferred)
  • Previous work in manufacturing-based design or construction detailing teams
