Data Migration Expert (Remote)

About the Role:

Our client, a
medium-sized Financial Services Company based in Germany
, is seeking a
Data Migration Expert
for a
short-term remote engagement
with flexible working hours. You will support their technology and operations teams in planning, executing, and validating data migrations across legacy, cloud, or hybrid environments. This opportunity suits an expert with strong ETL, SQL, and data quality experience who can work independently and deliver accurate, reliable migration outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end data migration activities across systems, databases, or cloud platforms
  • Design and implement ETL workflows, mapping logic, and transformation scripts
  • Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks before/after migration
  • Troubleshoot data inconsistencies, performance issues, and schema conflicts
  • Document migration processes, models, and technical findings

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in
    data migration
    , ETL development, or database engineering
  • Strong proficiency in
    SQL
    and scripting languages (Python preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with ETL tools (Informatica, Talend, SSIS, Airflow, DBT, etc.)
  • Understanding of data modeling, schema mapping, and migration best practices
  • Ability to work independently with strong problem-solving and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience migrating data in
    financial services or regulated industries
  • Exposure to
    cloud migration
    (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Familiarity with API-based data integrations or microservice environments
  • Background working with cross-functional engineering/product teams
