About the Role

We are looking for an Industrial Engineer/Production Engineer (1–3 years' experience) with direct factory-floor exposure to join our Discrete Event Simulation (DES) team.

This role ensures our simulation models are rooted in factory reality. You will act as the functional bridge: breaking down operational problems, guiding assumptions, and making sure our digital factory models represent what really happens on the shop floor.

Responsibilities-

  • Translate real factory challenges into structured problem statements for simulation.
  • Provide shop-floor–based input during throughput, bottleneck, and capacity analysis.
  • Guide the Simulation team to incorporate practical operational scenarios (machine downtime, worker variability, shift patterns, maintenance disruptions).
  • Validate assumptions used in simulation models and challenge unrealistic inputs as needed.
  • Support data gathering from factory operations and ensure accuracy + functional representation of processes.
  • Assist with preparing analysis reports and recommendations that operations managers can understand and act upon.
  • Be the "voice of industrial engineering" in the simulation team to ensure pragmatic, real-world alignment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Production/Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 2–4 years' experience working in a factory/plant environment in roles such as Industrial Engineer, Production Engineer, Process Improvement Engineer, or Lean/IE functions.
  • Hands-on exposure to:
  • Productivity improvement / bottleneck elimination initiatives
  • Work measurement, takt-time calculations, or line balancing exercises
  • OEE, equipment utilization, and throughput analysis
  • Familiarity with digital tools (ERP/MES, Excel-based analysis, or exposure to simulation tools) is a plus, not mandatory.
  • Strong analytical mindset and ability to critically evaluate assumptions.
  • Effective communicator, able to bridge technical teams and shop-floor realities
