Software Engineer in Python/JavaScript/AWS

ISS STOXX is actively looking for a Software Engineer in Python/JavaScript/AWS to join the Mumbai Team (Goregaon East).

Overview:

Join our team at ISS STOXX – Market Intelligence, where you'll be at the forefront of building and maintaining our financial platforms in US, UK and Australia. As a leading provider of critical data, insight, and workflow solutions to global asset managers, insurance companies and distributors in the financial industry, we're committed to driving innovation and excellence. As a Software Engineer on the Market Intelligence team, you will be developing new software products and maintaining and enhancing existing products.

Responsibilities:

• Write clean and maintainable code
• Understand technologies used in the products, and learn about architecture and design
• Participate in code reviews and learn from collaboration with other developers
• Work with the Quality Assurance team for testing and deployment
• Take ownership of tasks, ensure all processes are followed, and work is delivered on time
• Learn and adapt to new technologies, languages, and frameworks
• Follow agile scrum practices
• Understand the business side of the products to be able to deliver holistic technical solutions
• Effectively communicate and collaborate with global business and technical teams

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of relevant work experience in software development
• Must have at least 2+ years of experience working on Python
• At least 2+ years of experience with some implementation of SQL (MySQL, Postgres etc.)
• Experience with a JavaScript framework like React/Typescript is a plus
• Experience with Agile or Scrum software development methodologies
• Experience using version control tools (Git/SVN)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Good to have:

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Experience with containerization and micro services architectures is also an advantage
• Financial industry experience.
