Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Staff Nurse with NICU experience to provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill newborns. The candidate should be proficient in neonatal care protocols, emergency handling and family communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to neonates in NICU as per hospital & NABH standards.
  • Monitor vital signs, oxygen saturation, blood glucose, and developmental parameters.
  • Administer medications, IV fluids, TPN, phototherapy, and other neonatal treatments.
  • Perform routine procedures: NG tube insertion, IV cannulation, blood sampling, ETT care, CPAP handling, etc.
  • Assist neonatologist during rounds, deliveries, resuscitation, and emergency situations.
  • Maintain strict infection control & hand hygiene protocols.
  • Prepare neonates for diagnostic tests (X-ray, USG, labs, etc.).
  • Maintain accurate nursing notes, shift handover, and electronic/paper documentation.
  • Provide breastfeeding support and educate parents regarding newborn care.
  • Ensure upkeep of NICU equipment (warmer, ventilator, CPAP, monitors, syringe pumps).
  • Participate in Code Blue/Code Pink and follow emergency response procedures.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for smooth workflow.

  • Good communication and counseling skills.
  • Critical thinking and emergency handling ability.
