Job Description: Medical Coding Trainer Chennai

Position Overview

We are seeking a Medical Coding Trainer to deliver high-quality training programs for aspiring and experienced medical coders. The trainer will be responsible for teaching coding standards (ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS), specialty-specific guidelines, and compliance requirements, ensuring trainees are job-ready for healthcare organizations and revenue cycle management companies.

Conduct training sessions on medical coding (ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS) across specialties.

  • Develop curriculum, training materials, case studies, and assessments tailored to specialty coding.
  • Evaluate trainee performance through tests, mock coding exercises, and feedback sessions.
  • Stay updated with latest coding guidelines, payer rules, and compliance standards.
  • Provide mentorship and support to trainees for certification exams (CPC, CCS, COC, CIC, etc.).

  • Collaborate with management to align training outcomes with organizational goals.

  • Graduate degree in Life Sciences, Medical, Paramedical, or related field.

  • Certification from AAPC / AHIMA (CPC, CCS, COC, CIC preferred).
  • Minimum 35 years experience in medical coding, with at least 12 years in training.
  • Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and specialty-specific coding guidelines.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Location

  • Chennai, Tamil Nadu (onsite or hybrid depending on employer policy).
