Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic, visionary, and experienced academic leader to serve as the Principal of the Department of Commerce and Management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching, research, and academic administration, and will be responsible for leading the department towards academic excellence, innovation, and industry collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Academic Leadership

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the Commerce and Management department.
  • Ensure high-quality teaching, curriculum development, and academic planning.
  • Promote research, publications, and scholarly activity among faculty and students.
  • Facilitate accreditation, compliance with educational standards, and affiliation requirements.

Administrative Duties

  • Oversee departmental budgets, resource allocation, and infrastructure development.
  • Supervise recruitment, mentoring, and performance evaluation of faculty and staff.
  • Ensure timely completion of academic audits, reporting, and evaluations.
  • Maintain strong communication with university authorities, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders.

Student Development

  • Encourage student engagement through academic events, internships, workshops, and seminars.
  • Foster an inclusive, student-centered learning environment.
  • Support career services, industry interaction, and placement initiatives.

Industry & Community Engagement

  • Build partnerships with corporate, government, and academic institutions.
  • Facilitate internships, consultancy projects, guest lectures, and MoUs with industry.
  • Represent the institution at national and international forums.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Educational Qualification:

    Ph.D. in Commerce/Management/CSE or related field from a recognized university.

  • Experience:

  • Minimum 15 years of teaching/research experience in higher education, with at least 5 years in academic administration.

  • Experience as Head of Department, Vice Principal, or similar leadership role preferred.

  • Desirable:

  • UGC norms compliance (for Indian institutions).

  • Proven track record of published research, funded projects, or industry collaboration.
