Department: Design & Development

Reporting To: Senior Design Engineer / Project Manager

Role Objective

To design and develop Special Purpose Machines (SPMs), Vision Inspection Systems, and IVD Manufacturing Machines as per client requirements, ensuring functionality, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness while meeting project deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

Machine Design & Development

  • Develop concept designs, 3D models, and detailed drawings as per project scope.
  • Create BOM (Bill of Materials) and coordinate with purchase for vendor parts.
  • Design machine parts considering manufacturing feasibility, safety, and ergonomics.
  • Work on mechanical, pneumatic, and automation integration in machine design.

Project Execution Support

  • Collaborate with project, production, and assembly teams during execution.
  • Provide design clarifications during assembly, testing, and trials.
  • Assist in modifications and improvements during FAT (Factory Acceptance Test).

Innovation & Customization

  • Suggest innovative solutions to meet customer-specific requirements.
  • Optimize existing designs for cost reduction, performance improvement, and standardization.

Documentation & Standards

  • Maintain proper design documentation, revision history, and drawing control.
  • Ensure designs comply with engineering standards, safety norms, and quality guidelines.
  • Prepare technical documentation, assembly manuals, and design presentations.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks/AutoCAD mandatory).
  • Strong understanding of machine elements, fits, tolerances, GD&T, and manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of pneumatics, sensors, and basic automation integration.
  • Ability to convert client requirements into practical design solutions.
  • Good problem-solving and analytical thinking.

Qualification & Experience

  • Education: Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical / Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Experience: 13 years in SPM/machine design.
  • Freshers with strong CAD skills and project exposure are encouraged to apply.
