The Role We are seeking motivated and highly qualified individuals for the position of Assistant Professor within the School of Computer Science and Engineering. This is an entry-level academic role focused on excellence in teaching and initiating a robust research program.

Mandatory Responsibilities and Focus Areas

  • Deliver engaging and effective instruction for Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) students across various core and elective subjects.
  • Teach courses that cover fundamental and advanced Computer Science and Engineering specialisations and technical concepts.

UG Programmes: B.Tech (Hons.), B.Sc (Hons.), BCA (Hons.)

PG Programmes: M.Tech (Hons.)

  • Actively engage in subject-specific research and secure publications in high-quality, peer-reviewed forums.
  • Mentor students, contribute to laboratory development, and participate in academic administration and institutional activities.

Key Qualifications and Experience

The candidate must possess foundational subject/technical expertise and demonstrate a high aptitude for teaching and research, meeting the minimum regulatory standards.

Academic Background Mandatory Specification:

  • A First Class or equivalent at either the Bachelor's (B.E./B.Tech.) or Master's (M.E./M.Tech./M.S.) level in the relevant branch of Engineering/Technology (Computer Science/Engineering/Allied) is mandatory.
  • A Ph.D. degree in the relevant field (Computer Science/Engineering/Allied) is highly desirable and preferred for superior placement. Candidates with a relevant Master's degree who meet the First Class requirement are also eligible for consideration (Ph.D. is not universally mandatory for this post as per AICTE/UGC norms).
  • Minimum Experience Mandatory Specification: Experience is not mandatory for direct recruitment to the entry-level Assistant Professor post for candidates holding the minimum stipulated qualifications (First Class at B.E./B.Tech. and M.E./M.Tech.). However, any relevant prior teaching, research, or industry experience is a distinct advantage.
  • Relevant Work Experience Mandatory Specification: Demonstrated capability to handle core and specialised engineering subjects. Aptitude for research is highly desirable. Experience in a recognised university or college is valued.
  • Research Output Mandatory Specification: While specific publication count is not mandatory for direct entry, the candidate should possess a strong academic background and a clear aptitude for research. Publications in refereed journals (SCI/Scopus indexed) or conferences are an advantage.

Selection Criteria Candidates will be evaluated primarily on their academic record (consistent First Class or equivalent), depth of technical knowledge, communication skills, and demonstrated potential and enthusiasm for both high-quality teaching and scholarly research.
