Senior Accountant Financial Control

The Finance Controllership team at LSEG supports global financial control and accounting across the organization. This role is part of the Data & Analytics (D&A) segment and contributes to the delivery of accurate financial reporting, analysis, and control. It involves working across multiple business divisions and entities, engaging with finance teams and stakeholders to ensure consistency, transparency, and compliance in financial operations.
ResponsibilitiesThe role includes managing month-end close activities, ensuring accuracy and adherence to reporting timelines and policies. It requires developing a strong understanding of business processes to produce relevant financial insights and reporting. Responsibilities also include preparing cost schedules, commentary, and reporting packs, as well as identifying opportunities to improve controls and mitigate risks. The position involves collaboration with finance and business teams, supporting audit processes, and contributing to projects that enhance financial systems and practices.
Skills and QualificationsCandidates should be qualified Chartered Accountants, CPAs, or CIMAs with experience in IFRS-based accounting. A minimum of 8 years in a Big 4 firm or multinational company, preferably in the services sector, is expected. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work effectively across teams. Familiarity with financial systems such as SAP, Oracle, Pyramid, Hyperion, or HFM is preferred. The role requires adaptability, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Flexibility to work in alignment with UK hours is necessary.
