POSITION DESCRIPTION

Job Title:

Freelance Academic Writer – Radiology department

Job Purpose:

To provide expert academic writing and research support in the field of radiology and medical imaging. The role involves developing high-quality manuscripts, research proposals, theses, systematic reviews, and clinical protocols that adhere to academic and journal-specific standards. The writer is expected to collaborate with researchers, radiologists, and clinicians, ensuring medical accuracy, clarity, structure, and a scholarly tone in all deliverables. Responsibilities include evidence-based literature synthesis, referencing, data interpretation, and compliance with ethical guidelines and scientific writing norms.

Required Qualification:

· MBBS or MDS or Master's or Ph.D or MD. in Radiology, Medical Imaging, or a closely related medical/biomedical discipline

· Strong academic publication record and experience in medical or scientific writing

· Familiarity with clinical research methodology, medical imaging techniques, and evidence-based practice

Tools to be Familiar:

· Referencing Tools: EndNote, Mendeley, Zotero

· Document Preparation: MS Word, LaTeX (preferred but not mandatory)

· Data & Imaging Tools: Excel

· Plagiarism Checkers: Turnitin, iThenticate

Required Experience

· Minimum 2 years of academic or clinical writing experience in healthcare or radiology

· Proven track record of authoring or editing academic content: journal articles, review papers, clinical research proposals, dissertations

· Experience with formatting manuscripts for high-impact medical and radiology journals (e.g., Radiology, AJR, European Radiology, JAMA)

· Familiarity with research ethics, citation styles (Vancouver, AMA, APA), and peer-review processes

Required Knowledge/Skills

· Excellent command of academic English and scientific/clinical communication

· Ability to interpret radiology findings and integrate clinical relevance

· Proficiency in structuring manuscripts, writing summaries, and explaining diagnostic modalities (MRI, CT, USG, PET, etc.)

· Strong literature review and critical appraisal skills

· Detail-oriented with strong time management and client communication

Job Description

· Draft, revise, and finalize academic manuscripts, theses, case reports, and research protocols in radiology

· Conduct comprehensive literature reviews and synthesize findings from peer-reviewed journals

· Interpret radiological data and summarize imaging findings in scientifically appropriate language

· Ensure medical and technical accuracy in all documents

· Uphold publication ethics, originality, and quality benchmarks

· Incorporate client/researcher feedback and ensure version control across edits

· Deliver plagiarism-free, publication-ready documents on agreed timelines
