We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automation Engineer with AWS expertise to support our DevOps initiatives on a part-time basis (2 days per month). The ideal candidate will have strong proficiency in scripting, CI/CD pipeline development, infrastructure automation, and cloud platform management (AWS). This is a great opportunity for a seasoned engineer looking for a flexible engagement to contribute to meaningful automation and cloud optimization projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using Shell (Bash, sh) and Python to streamline operational workflows.
  • Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions and Jenkins.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployments in collaboration with DevOps, IT, and development teams.
  • Troubleshoot CI/CD and automation-related issues promptly and effectively.
  • Maintain clear documentation for automation processes, scripts, and best practices.
  • Participate in code reviews and drive continuous improvement of DevOps standards and practices.
  • Deploy, scale, and monitor containerized applications on AWS EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service).
  • Optimize and manage AWS infrastructure using Terraform and other Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
  • Set up and manage logging, monitoring, and alerting tools for production environments.
  • Ensure adherence to cloud security best practices across infrastructure, containers, and automation workflows.
  • Collaborate with development teams to resolve infrastructure and deployment issues.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve system performance, cost efficiency, and automation maturity.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Strong experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, IAM, Lambda, EKS, Networking, etc.).
  • Expertise in CI/CD tools: GitHub Actions and Jenkins.
  • Proficiency in scripting using Shell (Bash, sh) and Python.
  • Solid understanding of Linux/Unix systems and system administration.
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform for managing infrastructure as code.
  • Good understanding of Git and version control workflows.
  • Experience with Docker and container orchestration on Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or AWS CloudWatch.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of cloud networking, IAM roles/policies, and security best practices.

Preferred / Added Advantages

  • Exposure to Azure Monitor, Key Vault, or other cloud monitoring tools.
  • Experience working in production environments and managing alerting systems.
  • Knowledge of PowerShell scripting is a plus.
