Who We Are

At Kyndryl, we design, build, manage and modernize the mission-critical technology systems that the world depends on every day. So why work at Kyndryl? We are always moving forward – always pushing ourselves to go further in our efforts to build a more equitable, inclusive world for our employees, our customers and our communities.

The Role

Infrastructure Specialists at Kyndryl are project-based subject matter experts in all things infrastructure – good at providing analysis, documenting and diagraming work for hand-off, offering timely solutions, and generally "figuring it out." This is a hands-on role where your feel for the interaction between a system and its environment will be invaluable to every one of your clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage mainframe batch scheduling operations, ensuring timely and accurate execution of jobs across multiple environments.

  • Design, develop, and maintain job schedules, workflows, and dependencies using enterprise scheduling tools such as TWS/OPC, A-AUTO, A-SPOOL.

  • Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to gather scheduling requirements and translate them into executable job flows.

  • Perform JCL analysis and modifications based on application team inputs, ensuring compatibility and operational efficiency.

  • Monitor job execution, analyze job logs, and proactively address failures or delays to maintain SLA compliance.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve job abends, performing root cause analysis and implementing preventive measures to avoid recurrence.

  • Manage packet migrations using Endevor, ensuring version control and deployment accuracy.

  • Implement and maintain job calendars, scheduling rules, and workload automation strategies to optimize batch operations.

  • Identify and drive automation opportunities within the scheduling process to reduce manual effort and improve reliability.

  • Ensure proper documentation of BAU activities, monthly reports, and change records for audit and operational transparency.

  • Participate in incident, problem, change, and release management processes in alignment with ITIL best practices.

  • Support transition and onboarding of new applications or systems into the batch scheduling ecosystem.

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering knowledge sharing and operational excellence.

  • Coordinate with global teams, including offshore support, to ensure seamless 24x7 batch operations.

  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance scheduling performance, reduce failures, and improve turnaround times.

Your future at Kyndryl
There are lots of opportunities to gain certification and qualifications on the job, and you'll continuously grow as a Cloud Hyperscaler. Many of our Infrastructure Specialists are on a path toward becoming either an Architect or Distinguished Engineer, and there are opportunities at every skill level to grow in either of these directions.
